Boldt Castle

On Friday 6/16/06... We took a trip down to Alex Bay and did a cruise of the 1000 Islands.... We had a perfect day to enjoy it in!! After touring the islands for about 2 hours and taking in all the beautiful islands, we finally made it to Heart Island (had more pictures of the islands but blog site was giving me a hard time posting... so this is all I ended up with)... Flowers gardens were all over the island as well as the huge stone deck of the castle....

Inside the castel we came across this room with this big fish mounted over the mantel of the fire place.... Remembering that John enjoyed fishing, I thought I'd take this picture just for him....
The fire place is in the billiard Room.... Too bad the guys could only look and not touch!!!

Bruce took this one of me on the stair way leading from the main entrance floor up to 4 flights about.... of which were mostly still unfinished but also a work still in progress....

Steve and Vicky made it all the way up to the 4th floor and said they were able to stand on a balcony overlooking the island grounds.....
This is part of the Children's playhouse which sets at one end of the island apart from the castle itself....
Bruce and Phil hanging out patiently while Val and I were running about snapping pictures everywhere.....

Here we are by the heart garden, which we had our picture taken by back when we visited the island together while dating.....
Time was running out and we had to head back to the dock to catch our shuttle boat back to the main land.... Knowing Val's love of sea gulls, I just had to have her pose with this wooden one setting the steps outside the souvenir shop.....
She was not too happy to learn she wasn't allowed to feed the gulls on the island.... Sorry Val.... But there's more back on the main land....

We had one great day..... The downside was that John & Cindy weren't there with us.... We missed you guys!!!
