Christmas Dinner with the Hallelujah Hunnies

CHRISTMAS DINNER WITH THE HALLELUJAH HUNNIES .... 12/10/05

December 10, 2005.... The Hallelujah Hunnies Red Hat Club gathered for our 2nd annual Christmas Dinner at Lil Farr's home.... She went to a great amount of work to decorate her home for our dinner party.... As we entered her home we were not only greeted by our hostess, but the fragrance of the turkey dinner she'd been working on all day..... She had her kitchen table decorated with Christmas theme as well as her dining room table.... As we entered her living room we were pleasantly surprised to see this beautiful display of a miniture village set up on tables running full length of one of her living room walls.... The tables were covered with snow like cloth (top and below) and each piece of the village was laid out expertly..... It was definitely a sight to see.... And obvious to see that a lot of loving work went into placing each piece..... This is a collection she's been working on for years..... You go Lil!! Here's a shot of a few of the ladies... as usual... I'm the one behind the camera, so of course not in the picture... Cindy hadn't arrived yet and I believe Lil was out in the kitchen putting the finishing touches to the dinner..... The lady in the pink hat is Theresa, she can't wear red and purple yet... she's not fortunate enough yet to be in her 50's... And the lady in the purple hat is Debbie... she gets to wear the purple hat because December is her birthday month...

This is our Queen Mum (Donna) and her good and faithful side kick.... the Vice Mum (Jan H.)...

Debbie and Theresa hamming it up a bit for the camera.... Beautiful ladies aren't they??!!

And here we have Jan and Betty.... Finding a quiet moment to to aquaint themselves with each other.... Betty is a wonderful new addition to our group.....

And what do you think of this dessert.... Neat, huh!!... I brought this one... Got the recipe from my friend, Vicki... she let me borrow her triffle dish as well.... Thanks Vicki... Your recipe was a great hit with the girls....

Lil handled the major cooking for our dinner.... turkey, mash potatos, stuffing, as well as doing such a fine job of creating the perfect holiday atmosphere for all to enjoy.... The rest of us brought a dish of our own to pass.... The Hallelujah Hunnies know how to put on a feast!! And we know how to clean up too.... and I'm not talking about doing the dishes....

Didn't take us long to fill our plates from the banquet table before us and find places to sit at one of Lil's nicely decorated tables.... Everything was as delicious as it looked and then some.... I couldn't resist going back for seconds....

Once dinner was finished.... Jan (in the santa hat) showed us how to play one of her family's favorite Christmas Triditional games.... the object was to place two spoons together and bounce one of them into a cup ..... We each took a turn.... and although frustrating.. lots of fun.....
Jan Hamaker was the first to give it a try and here's Lil delighted and surprised at herself for getting her spoon into the cup.... She got a round of appluase from all of us... It wasn't all that easy to do .... let me tell you!!
And here I am... giving it my good ole try... Out of 3 tries.... I missed each time.....
And here's our winner.....Theresa B. .... Congratulations Theresa!!
Then came time to open our gifts... We each drew a name at our November Breakfast at Cracker Barrell.... I drew Jan Hamaker's name.... Not only is she a great Hallelujah Hunnie buddy.... but also a very close and dear friend.... Jan introduced Bruce and I to each other.... Thanks for the great hubby Jan (Valley Girl)....

Linda S. drew my name.... How do you like my new parking sign... I told Bruce I was going to hang it on the corner of the house where I park my car..... She also gave me movie tickets... Great gift for me... Bruce and I love going to the movies.... Thanks Linda!!

Once the gifts were all open we continued to sit around the living room and visit.... Lil came up with the great idea that we all share one of our favorite Christmas stories.... It was fun and very interesting to hear all the great stories the girls had to share.... And then all too soon it was time for our evening to come to an end... Time to say good night and head home.... As always we had a terrific time together and all very thankful to Lil for inviting us to have our dinner in her home... You did a spectacular job Lil.... I know we all had more fun there then if we had gone out to dinner..... Thanks !!!
