February Blizzard 07
February 4, 2007..... We woke up to blizzard like conditions..... Bruce turned on the weather report to learn that all road travel was restricted to emergency use only.... Church was canceled along with just about everything else that might be opened.... I ventured outside and took this picture of our house... just so those of you who live in the southern climates can get a feel for what you're really missing.... Makes you a little homesick doesn't it....
This is a shot looking up the street from our place..... Snow falling and blowing everywhere....
We weren't up long before Bruce realized our furnace didn't sound like it was running right.... Sure enough.... it wasn't... He called the furnace man and was told he should check our roof stack to make sure it wasn't covered..... So off he goes to work his way towards the roof.... and work his way there he did.... shoveling every step of the way.....
To get to the big ole long roof brush, he first had to make his way to the shed then shovel snow away from doors before he could even get inside...
Once he got the brush, his next project was to trudge through knee deep snow to make a path to and across the back deck (the snow was above his knees actually)..... He made a few attempts of clearing off an area safe enough to stand on once up there, then back to the shed again to get the ladder so he could get up on the roof... Sure enough.... our stack was covered.....
