Christmas with Jay & Liz (2005)

December 26th we got a visit from Bruce's oldest son, Jay and his girlfriend, Liz.... They arrived right around 6:15 p.m. They traveled up from Conneticut and stopped in for a visit with us on their way to Messena where Jay planned to spend time with his son, Peyton and other family members he has there....With little time for visiting, we decided to just make pizza, which we picked up earlier at Sam's Club, and enjoy the time we had together visiting and catching up.... Alyson arrived a couple of hours into their visit.... Here she's opening up her gift from Jay & Liz.. something every girl likes to get... lotions and potions.....

With Jay's birthday on December 28th, I baked a birthday cake for him so we could help him celebrate his birthday as well.... Liz snapped this picture of Bruce and Alyson enjoying a piece of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream... mmmmm mmmm good!! The cake tasted much better than it looked... I tried to write Happy Birthday, Jay on it.... but have since decided that cake decorating isn't one of my talents and promised I wouldn't pursue it further...
Jay also brought along a cd of his and Liz's trip to Yosimite Park.... Lots of pictures to look through... and every one a beautiful scenery shot.... Sure would be nice to visit Yosimite for ourselves.... who knows.... maybe one of these days....
And here we are snuggled under my new soft blanket Jay got me.....
This thing is "huge".... trying it on our bed for now... (we have a California King)... but thinking we may go back to our other blanket and I'll use this one on the couch to keep warm with until the winter cold has past us.... Can never stay warm enough this time of year..... We had a great visit with everyone.... and as always this visit too, ended way too soon.... Both Jay & Liz are in the military... Jay is active Reserves, stationed in New Jersey... Liz lives in Conneticut with her family and is in the National Guard.... Jay will soon be heading out to Missouri for further training and Liz will be leaving sometime in February for a year in Germany....
