Building My Own Rock Patio (The hard way)

6/4/06.....I've wanted a cement patio for some time now... Or even a flat rock patio.... Then one day I came across this pile of rock on my way to and fro work...(and just happened to know who owned it)... A phone call or two later I had permission to take as much as needed.... I called my good friend, Debbie, and this afternoon we met at the pile and started "Rock Picking".... Nice pile of rocks don't you think... Lots of different sizes and shapes to choose from....
Now we were told (by concerned friends and loved ones) that we probably were taking on way too much for a couple of women (with bad backs) and that we didn't realize the weight of some of those stones.... But it really wasn't so bad ...... Never under estimate the mind set of determined women....

Before we knew it we had the back of Bruce's truck pretty well loaded.....
We weren't really sure if we had enough or not, but were also running out of time.... So we decided to call it quits with what we had and headed back to my place and started laying it.... As you can see... We were able to fill in a good portion though, but still lacked enough to complete the job fully.... They all fit in together nicely too, don't you think?
Tomorrow after our workout at CURVES and if we don't get hit with "more" rain.... We plan to hit the Rock Pile once again to see if we can get enough to finish the job.... Right now my little rock patio is a little lumpy, but by next year it should all be settle into the ground and make for a great little patio area... For now.... Tread carefully my friends.....
