Jasonn's Basketball Game 3/25/06

March 25, 2006.... Jasonn & Kyle playing their last basketball game of the season... They called me earlier in the week and asked me if I'd like to come down to Lafayette to watch them play.... Well, of course... wouldn't miss it for anything.... My good friend, Debbie, joined me in the ride down... We left the city around 8 a.m. and hit Carousal Mall shortly after 9 a.m... Shopped a little and grabbed lunch at the Chicago Grill....(We both had a Ceaser Salad)... and then time to head out to the baskeball game.... We arrived at the Russell's about 12:50 and Klaus and the boys were all ready to go... so loaded everyone into the Pacifica and off we went.... Mommy was working and would join us there..... Here the boys are just inside their school building... taking a minute to pose for their Nana...
Another team was still playing so they waited here in the hall area just outside their gym until they finished.... Papa and the boys relaxing before the game.... Jasonn's number is "5" and Kyle's number is "52"

The boys and their other team mates got a chance to warm up a bit before they played... The boys thought they'd be playing on the same team together, but the coach informed them (on our arrival) that the 5th graders would play against 5th graders and 6th graders agains 6th graders (yellow versus green)... The 6th players would play first.....



Warm up is over and Mommy (Olivia) arrived just before the game began.... She looked like she could have been one of the referees in her work uniform.....
The game began.... Here's Jasonn running down the court after the ball... That's one of the referees to the left front....

Jasonn got plenty of excercise in this game.... maybe more than he'd like... but he held up pretty good.... He got a couple of breaks through out the game to catch his breath and then right back into the game....

Jasonn's team (Yellow Team) won the game.... Great game guys... You did a terrific job!! After the game Jasonn & his team mates met in the cafeteria for pizza and a small award ceremony...
Jasonn didn't waste anytime getting himself a slice of pizza and enjoying a chance to cool down after his game... Here he is showing Mommy & Papa the medal he got for being "The Most Improved & Most Important Defense" player.... Way to go Jasonn.... You played a great game..... Congratulations!!

Kyle's Basket Ball Game/3/25/06

After we finished watching Jasonn's game... we all finally got to watch Kyle and his team go into action.... Kyle was also on the yellow team.... And although he might be slight in size.... Kyle had a good stride on him as he'd race from one end of the court to the other.... And wouldn't you know it.... he even made a basket and I didnt' have my camera ready.... I was in such awe as I watched him go into play... I missed taking the picture.... Sorry Kyle!!
Here's Kyle running from one end of the court to the other.... it's a wonder he had a chance to catch his breath... but he did and he played a good game out there too....

Finally....Game over.... and the Yellow Team WON!!! Great Game boys!!
After the game Kyle and his team mates gathered in the school cafeteria for a pizza party of their own.... as well as a little awards ceremony.... (Notice Jasonn over in the right hand corner... wathing for an opening to grab another slice of pizza... he also grabbed a couple slices for me and Debbie... good boy, Jasonn)
Kyle received an award for "The Most Improved Overall Player".... We all agree!!!... You certainly played a good game out there Kyle... Real proud of you Grandson!!

Debbie and I getting ready to chow down on some pizza of our own.... And all too soon the day was over... We took Klaus and the boys back to their place and dropped them off... Unfortunately it was getting late in the day so we couldn't hang around.....it was time to head back to Watertown....
